Micro Report Specification and Calculations Workbook
This spreadsheet template is a structured costing and reporting workbook designed to calculate and present the full costs of training/education programmes at a detailed level. It captures core programme assumptions (e.g., trainee numbers, completion rates, study hours/weeks, cohorts, development time, currencies and inflation parameters), then translates them into consolidated outputs such as total programme costs and income, unit costs per trainee starter/graduate, and component-level cost analysis.
A key feature of the template is that it allows costing to be done by programme and by course type, enabling planners to compare how different delivery modes (e.g., text-based, project-based, residential, ICT, and other course types) affect the overall cost structure. It breaks costs into consistent components, such as learning resources, trainee support, assessment & quality assurance, and programme resources/overheads—and provides summary views that support budgeting, scenario testing, and standardized reporting.
