Being able to distinguish appropriate behaviour in different situations is the first step towards a person behaving with integrity and respect. Understanding that it is inappropriate to give expensive gifts or money to teachers and civil servants is one such situation. In addition, giving gifts or money in return for a favor is not only morally wrong but often criminally wrong.
